Day 9 DFI
Google exam! I didn't need that in my life to tell me how far off the digital pace I am. Having said that, I am far more on board as a result of the last 9 weeks than before, and better equipped to explore areas that will assist me in my job.
 Today's theme was on Ubiquitous learning and the thing I'm most proud of along these lines during the lock- down was to be able to set up Google hangouts for my students and to post work on Hapara Workspace.
What I will be taking forward into my new era of teaching will be the use of a class site to store and make accessible resources for both me and my students and a new appreciation of the environment my students are expected to operate in and also the skills they have. The lockdown also made many of the "outside providers" that I use make their resources digitally available, which is a massive step forward.
No regrets!

Finally  I’ve decided that I am now more “Digitally Fluent” because it’s ok for me to decide when and where to use digital technology and I’m also more “Cybersmart, because I’m in charge, and I will not be a victim” of this encroaching expectation. (to a limited extent)

What did I learn about the kaupapa today; How empowerment crosses over so many aspects of life from Health to Education to Income to Education.  I really related to the Rangatiratanga concept of "Taking back control of our lives" I am mindful of too much technology and it's demands taking over my time and I resent it!

Confidence, Capability or Workflow as a professional: I didn't learn anything today that would help with this.I saw a lot of expectations re.NZ Curriculum that would demand more time. This decreased my confidence , not increased it.

What was useful for learners. I incorporate a lot of manners and citizenship learning into my lessons , so today it was good to be exposed to the Moral machine activity which I would like my students to experience. http://moralmachine.mit.edu/

Confidence, Capability or Workflow of my personal life: A good bit of  info today was the link to an app to track moles called Skin Vision.  https://www.skinvision.com/ This ia a good example of technology empowering regarding health.

DFI Day 6 Enabling Access
 Really what I learned today was how far I have to go with creating a resourceful site for both me and my learners. When we had the opportunity to look at and rate other sites that people had created I had to take my hat off to them for their efforts, amazing!!
 My gains today were in becoming more familiar with inputting and "embedding" resources into my site and a little more creative with Visual Appeal and Site Functionality (Thanks to Gerhard)
I have started another site today to support another teaching portfolio that I have (Industry Studies) and will establish a third for Academies.
These sites will in the first instance at least put relevant resources together so that they are available for me to use prior to the students accessing them.

DFI Day 5  "Sites"

Today was a progress day where there were tools I could find an immediate application for. Top of the list for this was creating class sites, were I began putting some of my resources for Forestry teaching here. It was rewarding to learn the skills (with help) of navigating around the various functions to create something workable.
 It was good to be able to incorporate some of Kerry's ideas about behavioral engagement alongside the cognitive info. The challenge now is to expand into multi textural info. where different points of view are presented and including student selected text.
