DFI Day 4

This was a major challenge and.step up in my abilities to cope with the demands for today.. Vanessa's presentation on Google forms is certainly something that I can see a need to use in my teaching but I will need a lot of practice to get familiar with it. Thanks to Gerhard for showing the capabilities of My Maps, but at my level I can't see me using that in the immediate future. The presentation on spreadsheets was probably the most applicable application that I experienced today and with Dorothy’s help I  managed to master some elementary functions with this process. I took  a student's blog which was supplied and took some Elementary data from that and embedded into  into a new sheet and also got familiar with having various tabs along the bottom to distinguish the various groups. I developed the ability to select various graphs and display them, which you can see embedded on my site and some elementary analysis of them. In summary for today, I found this pretty challenging. I'm doing this using Google Docs and voice typing so that I guess there's some progression  evident.

Day 3 of DFI 2nd time around:

I only could attend for the first session of this day as I had a medical appointment. What I did learn re. the Manaiakalani kaupapa was the importance and value of "Creating" for the learner in the whole educational process.
At my stage of development I would feel it is unlikely I would use live streaming but I can see the value of this as a marketing tool and /or to motivate students to perform better.
I can appreciate that new programmes like Google Draw would enhance students' ability to create.

Day 2 DFI

One of the big pluses from today was learning a little more about functions of Hapara from Mark, especially from the highlights icon where I can see what sites students are using.

Recording Google Meets was also a new tool that will be valuable. Hopefully the link below will show the recording of my Google meet today with Mark. It took a while to figure this out!

I must confess that I can't see myself using Google Keep to do my shopping with, as Dorothy demonstrated. This would give me a feeling of being a slave to technology that would annoy me!

Vanessa exposed some short comings with my Gmail when it showed I had 13,000 emails. Obviously some of her filing techniques needed.

DFI Online Day 1 More than Challenging!!

Today's learning was enhanced by the patience and help of the facilitators, much appreciated!.

The major application I will gain out of today is organizing My Drive better so I can find things, and being able to construct better Google Docs.
I also learnt how to make a screen shot of my work and can hopefully present it here. If you don't see a poster about Industry Studies then you'll know my learning wasn't quite complete.

All of these things will be equal use in my private life as well as professional.

Wow! Cracked it.
