Day 3 of DFI 2nd time around:

I only could attend for the first session of this day as I had a medical appointment. What I did learn re. the Manaiakalani kaupapa was the importance and value of "Creating" for the learner in the whole educational process.
At my stage of development I would feel it is unlikely I would use live streaming but I can see the value of this as a marketing tool and /or to motivate students to perform better.
I can appreciate that new programmes like Google Draw would enhance students' ability to create.

  1. Kia ora Darryl,
Creating is key and a big driver for students engaging in the learning. I think so many of our students default is learn, go to google for the create and then share. Creating their own content instead of consuming others content leads too much more deeper learning.
As educators we have to understand the create is a major part of the learning and empower the students by building time into our programmes to allow the creating to occur.
    Nga mihi,
    Mark
