Day 2 DFI

One of the big pluses from today was learning a little more about functions of Hapara from Mark, especially from the highlights icon where I can see what sites students are using.

Recording Google Meets was also a new tool that will be valuable. Hopefully the link below will show the recording of my Google meet today with Mark. It took a while to figure this out!

I must confess that I can't see myself using Google Keep to do my shopping with, as Dorothy demonstrated. This would give me a feeling of being a slave to technology that would annoy me!

Vanessa exposed some short comings with my Gmail when it showed I had 13,000 emails. Obviously some of her filing techniques needed.

  1. Wow you learned how to put the link into your blog- I will have to learn that trick. I thought I was bad with 1500 emails but you take the cake Darryl. I made my husband a collaborator on my Google Keep shopping list and he asked me why the heck would he need it so it is obviously just to remind people like me what not to forget. So much to learn so far!

  2. Kia ora Darryl,
Meets are going to be valuable for you as we move forward and also potentially investigating Screencastify. I assume a number of your students may not engage with traditional literacy and numeracy so having rewindable videos available to them would empower their learning. Here is the way I would embed videos either in a blog or on a Google Site embed videos either in a blog or on a Google Site. This video was made using Screencastify. I am happy to share a resource how to use Screencastify if you would like.
The videos do not need to be pretty or perfect.
I have set up Google Keep for our groceries however my wife prefers her paper list as it easy to manage on a shopping trolley. Each of the tools in DFI are shared with you so you know about them, please pick and choose the ones that empower you, there are too many to utilise all of them.
    Nga mihi,
    Mark
